The Arab International Aluminium Conference (ARABAL) combines a strategic conference with an international exhibition. It is the premium trade event for the Middle East’s aluminium industry and the only conference attended by every primary smelter in the region.


This will be the 23rd edition of ARABAL and its 36th year. The event will be hosted by ALBA from the 19 – 21 November 2019 in Bahrain.


Today ARABAL sees the participation of more than 500 top executives who attend its conference, and thousands who visit its exhibition.

2019 HOST

Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) is one of the leading primary Aluminium smelters in the world and is renowned for premium grade aluminium products, technological strength, positive working culture, strict environmental guidelines and high track record for safety. Starting-out as a 120,000 metric tonne per annum (mtpa) smelter in 1971, Alba’s production for 2018 stood at plus-1 million metric tonnes of high-grade aluminium and Value-Added Products that include standard and T-ingots, extrusion billets, rolling slabs, properzi ingots and molten aluminium.


Alba is listed on both the Bahrain Bourse and London Stock Exchange, and the Company’s shareholders are Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (69.38%), SABIC Industrial Investment Company (20.62%) and the General Public (10%).


With the First Hot Metal from Potline 6 achieved on 13 December 2018, Alba is now amongst the 1 million-metric tonne smelters in the world. Upon completion in 2019, the Line 6 Expansion Project will boost Alba’s per-annum production by 540,000 metric tonnes, bringing Alba’s total production capacity to 1.5 million metric tonnes per year.






EGA is owned equally by Mubadala Development Company of Abu Dhabi and Investment Corporation of Dubai. EGA is an Aluminium conglomerate with interests in bauxite/alumina and primary Aluminium smelting; with plans for significant local growth and international expansion.


EGA’s core operating assets – Dubai Aluminium (“DUBAL”) and Emirates Aluminium (“EMAL”) – began operating in 1979 and 2009 respectively, collectively giving the business a legacy of 40 years’ experience at EGA’s formation in 2014. Widely acknowledged as the UAE’s industrial flagship, EGA’s history is marked by numerous key milestones and achievements.



Egyptalum is located in the heart of the aluminium valley. It first started production in 1975. The annual production reached 320,000 metric ton which is characterized by the variety of mix product for primary aluminium, flat rolled products and extrusions.


The desired philosophy is to increase the productivity, reduce the environmental impact with goals for local growth and international expansion.



Kuwait Industries Company Holding was established in the year 1993 as a holding company, the first of its kind permitted in the state of Kuwait. The primary objective of the company is to provide management services to its industry subsidiary companies and to promote new projects and investments in the different industrial sectors locally and overseas in line with the organisation’s interests. The activities of the subsidiary companies are diversified and are integrated in executing architectural aluminium works. This concept provides the customer the advantage of meeting all their architectural requirements from one source as a package unit, from aluminium extrusion, fabrication, glass works, grills, roll forming to installation and maintenance.


The Arab International Aluminium Conference (ARABAL) was launched in 1983 in Kuwait, under the initiative of Mr. Mohammed Al Naki, owner of Kuwait Industries and Chairman of ARABAL.



Ma’aden was formed by Royal Decree in 1997 to facilitate the development of Saudi Arabia’s mineral resources. In 2004, the Cabinet adopted the new Mineral Investment Law in a step helped in the development of the mineral sector and the infrastructure of the railway and the port, which enabled Ma’aden to easily transfer its products to market.


Ma’aden was wholly owned by the Saudi Government before 50% of its shares were floated on the Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) in 2008. Ma’aden also has founded Ma’aden’s Aluminium Project, which is a partnership with several affiliates of Ma’aden, such as Ma’aden’s Aluminium, Ma’aden Bauxite and Alumina and Ma’aden Rolling Mill. It is one of the most integrated and effective Aluminum projects in the world. It contains a bauxite mine and a refinery in addition to one of the most advanced rolling mill plants in the world.



Qatalum is an equal joint venture between Qatar Petroleum and Hydro Aluminium of Norway produces more than 610,000 tons of high-quality primary aluminium products per annum from twin 1.2 kilometre potlines. Qatalum’s complex facilities include a carbon plant, port and storage facilities, as well as a captive power plant.


Qatalum’s state-of-the-art cast house products are value-added extrusion ingots and foundry alloys that meet the stringent quality standards of its global customer base. Used in a variety of industries including the automotive, construction, engineering and in the manufacturing of consumer goods, by the end of its journey, Qatalum’s aluminium reaches the entire global community.

Sohar Aluminium was formed in September 2004 to undertake a landmark Greenfield aluminium smelter project in the Sultanate of Oman and is jointly owned by Oman Oil Company, Abu Dhabi National Energy Company PJSC – TAQA and Rio Tinto. By implementing decades of industry insight in its design, specification and construction Sohar Aluminium has been created to ensure efficiency, environmental protection and the utmost safety of its workforce. The smelter has an annual production capacity of 375,000 tonnes of high quality Aluminium.
