Workshop 2: Molten metal safety

Historically no other hazard is responsible for more financial and human loss than molten metal explosions. Over the past decade close to $500 million USD of financial losses can be attributed to molten metal explosions. While over 50 workers have been killed and countless others have been injured. This workshop will cover following the who, what, when, and where of molten safety. The goal is for attendees to leave the workshop with a good knowledge of this hazard to make their coworkers and company safer.

The workshop will be 120 minutes in length and will cover:

  1. Root Causes of Explosions
  2. Industry Research of Explosions
  3. Notable historical explosions
  4. Review of the Molten Metal Incident Reporting Program
  5. Recent Explosions (root causes discussed)
  6. Explosion prevention
  7. Importance of maintenance

ALBA SITE VISIT

Alba smelter site visit will take place in the morning of Tuesday, 19th November 2019.

 

The buses will be departing from the Gulf Hotel and other selected hotels at 10 am.

 

This site visit is free of charge for all conference delegates but spaces are limited to 75 only.

 

Pre-registration is mandatory and we will need to receive a copy of your valid ID/passport for submission to Alba security.

 

Kindly note that all pre-registrations for Alba smelter visit will close on 5th November 2019.
